Container Transport Driver

As a Container Transport Driver at BTT, you will be on the road every day, delivering and collecting containers from customers, terminals and ports. You will be responsible for your own tractor-trailer combination and drive your routes independently, while our planners and your colleagues are always within easy reach.

What will you be doing?

As a Container Transport Driver, you make sure our containers arrive safely and on time at their destination. You will drive a variety of routes and represent BTT wherever you go.

  • Collecting and delivering containers at customers, terminals and ports
  • Taking responsibility for your tractor-trailer combination and cargo
  • Accurately registering your journeys using the onboard computer
  • Staying in contact with the planning team about your routes and any changes
  • Providing friendly and professional service at every location
  • Handling your vehicle and the containers you transport safely and with care

What does your working day look like?

You start your day by checking your schedule before getting into your truck to collect or deliver your first container. Throughout the day, you will drive between various customers, terminals and ports, meaning your routes and destinations may be different every day.

While on the road, you stay in contact with the planning team and register your journeys using the onboard computer. You work independently for much of the day, but your colleagues are always there to support you when needed.

Most routes are driven during the day. Prefer working in the evening? That is also possible, and we would be happy to discuss the options with you.

    What do we ask of you?

    You enjoy being behind the wheel, are comfortable working independently and take responsibility for your vehicle and cargo. You are also customer-oriented and represent BTT in a professional manner.

    • CE driving licence
    • Valid Code 95 (Driver CPC)
    • Good command of Dutch and/or English
    • Good communication skills
    • Customer-friendly and professional attitude
    • Enthusiastic and flexible approach
    • ADR certificate is a plus

    What do we offer?

    At BTT, you will have an independent driving role with plenty of freedom on the road. You will drive our own equipment and receive support through the BTT Academy to keep your professional knowledge and qualifications up to date.

    What does a Container Driver at BTT do?

    You transport sea containers between customers, terminals and ports. You drive modern equipment and are responsible for safe and timely delivery.

    What driving licences do I need?

    You have a category CE licence and a valid Code 95. An ADR certificate is a plus, but not always required.

    Can I have input into my own schedule?

    Yes. BTT thinks along with you about a schedule that suits your situation. Think of a fixed day off, night shifts or weekend shifts.

    Do I drive modern equipment?

    Yes. You drive modern tractor-trailer combinations and use an on-board computer for trip registration.
