As a Shunter at BTT, you work with terminal tractors, liaise with planners and drivers, and keep the logistics flow running.

What will you be doing?

Your day on the terminal

You are active daily on the terminal and in the immediate vicinity of Tilburg.

  • Safely moving containers, chassis and trailers between terminals, warehouses and storage locations
  • Safely and efficiently operating terminal tractors and other equipment
  • Checking containers and documents on arrival and departure
  • Working with the on-board computer and processing transport administration
  • Liaising with planners, drivers and colleagues on the terminal

What do we ask of you?

You work independently, think ahead and like to get stuck in.

  • Category T licence or category B licence obtained before 1 July 2015
  • Good command of Dutch or English
  • Sense of responsibility and safety-conscious work attitude
  • Flexible and able to cope with varying working hours
  • Collegial and solution-oriented attitude

Experience with a terminal tractor or shunting work is a bonus, but we consider motivation and effort just as important.

What does a Shunter at BTT do?

You move containers between various locations on site and make sure trailers and containers are ready for transport on time.

Do I need a category CE licence?

Each vacancy states which licences or certificates are required. Always check the job requirements before applying.

Do I work alone?

No. You have plenty of contact with drivers, planners and terminal employees to coordinate the work well.

What does a workday look like?

No two days are the same. You're constantly moving equipment and quickly switch between different tasks.

Do I need a T driving licence?

Yes, or you're willing to obtain this through BTT. If you obtained your category B licence before 1 July 2015, you often automatically have a valid T licence.

Do I need experience?

No. You can start without experience. BTT guides you and teaches you the trade in practice.

Do I work in shifts?

Yes. You work in rotating shifts, so the logistics operation can continue around the clock.
